Bar operator JD Wetherspoon is launching a new discounted meal plan on Tuesday as the Chancellor’s Eat Out to Help Out initiative comes to an end across the UK.

The move will reduce prices for a variety of food and beverages Monday through Wednesday through November 11.

The cheapest prices will begin on September 1, after the end of the government’s campaign to encourage people to go out to eat by subsidizing meals during August.

Wetherspoon said the prices of some of its food and drinks will be cheaper than those available at takeout.

Meals on offer will include an 11-inch Margherita pizza with a soft drink for £ 3.99 and a classic six-ounce beef burger for £ 3.99.

A traditional breakfast will cost £ 2.99 and a small breakfast £ 2.49.

Pubs will also offer three small courses for £ 7.50 and mini desserts at 99p.

Diners and restaurateurs have asked that the campaign be extended to all areas

There will be a choice of 21 small plates in the three for a £ 7.50 deal, including nachos, halloumi fries, chicken wings and nine varieties of pizza.

Coffee or tea will be available for 99p and all soft drinks will cost 99p.

Alcohol will not be included in any of the new offers.

President Tim Martin said the plan has been “extremely popular” since Aug. 1.

“The government’s Eat Out to Help Out plan was extremely popular with our customers and a huge boost to the hospitality industry,” said the founder of Wetherspoon.

A traditional breakfast will cost £ 2.99 and a small breakfast £ 2.49

“We look forward to offering our customers an excellent variety of food and drink at very affordable prices.

“Our offer means that a classic beef burger in our pubs will be priced even better than McDonald’s.

“The classic burger at Wetherspoon is £ 3.99 versus McDonald’s medium Big Mac meal (which includes Big Mac two 1.6-ounce beef patties, medium fries, medium Coke Zero Sugar) which costs £ 4.59.

“Also, the cappuccino in our pubs will be 50p cheaper than McDonald’s and our customers can also have free refills.

“Our prices are also lower than Domino’s Pizza for an 11-inch pizza.

“The 11-inch Margherita pizza and soda is £ 3.99 at Wetherspoon versus Domino’s Pizza’s 11.5-inch two-ingredient pizza offering (no drink) at £ 5.99.

“An 11.5-inch Domino’s Pizza Mighty Meaty pizza meal deal costs £ 9.99 (excluding drink) compared to Wetherspoon Spicy Meat Feast at £ 5.99 (includes soda), a £ 4 savings.”

Diners and restaurateurs have called for the Eat Out to Help Out campaign to be extended to the entire country, as Rishi Sunak’s subsidized scheme comes to an end on Holiday Monday.

Downing Street said more than 64 million meals have been claimed so far since the initiative was launched in an attempt to boost the hotel industry in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

84,000 points of sale were registered, according to the most recently published Treasury statistics.
