Thousands of anti-lockdown protesters have gathered in central London, claiming that the coronavirus is a “hoax”.
The “United for Freedom” march began in Trafalgar Square at noon on Saturday, with protesters calling for “no more closures,” no vaccines “and” no government lies. “
Images and video from the protest show thousands of people at the popular tourist spot, many with signs and banners.
There seems to be little to no social distancing among the large crowds and very few seem to be covering their faces.
Piers, brother of former Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn, is expected to deliver a speech later.
Activist Sonia Poulton, who was part of the protest, posted a video on Twitter earlier today.

She said: “People are coming today to make their voices heard against mandatory vaccinations, mandatory masks, anything mandatory really. No more closures, no more second wave deals.”
The messages on the posters said “the coronavirus is a hoax”, “no mandatory vaccines” and “masks are muzzles.”
Other posters say “masks reduce immunity” and “masks increase the risk of infection.”
Despite more than 40,000 deaths in the UK from coronavirus, another sign said it was “fake science” and that Covid-19 can be compared to a “serious flu”.
A flyer for the event said that “the best doctors and nurses would speak the truth against the government that drives fear and ignores science.”
@waite_richard tweeted: “Trafalgar Square now! Stand up! No RNA vaccines, no masks, no lockdowns!”
There have been several protests against the blockade in the UK and Europe during the pandemic.
Earlier this month, unmasked activists gathered for a ‘rally for freedom’ to protest the shutdown.
Dozens of people gathered at Victoria Square in Birmingham to voice their views on face masks.
They gathered around a speaker and a sign that read ‘Covid-19 is a smokescreen for a bigger agenda,’ reported the Birmingham Mail.
The speaker said, “Everybody can’t go to pop music concerts until he (Boris Johnson) says so.”
“What is this all about? This is exactly about control. Many of you already know.
“A lot of people walk around with masks on. What about the subject of masks? Do masks protect you? Look at the scientific studies.
“They say they have practically no effect.”
Another anti-closure protest in Berlin, Germany, had to be broken up by the police today.
Around 18,000 protesters attended the march, which saw 3,000 policemen descend on the protest.
“Unfortunately, we have no other choice,” the Berlin police said on Twitter. “All the measures taken so far have not resulted in
compliance with the conditions “.
A police spokesman said protesters were dispersing peacefully, although police also reported on Twitter.
riots, such as a building container fire and blocked roads.
Police had been preparing for possible violence, as activists opposed to anti-virus measures urged social media followers across Europe to arm themselves and meet in Berlin.
Earlier this week, the city banned the protest, but a German regional court gave the final go-ahead overnight by overturning
the previous decision.
Activists, angered by the city’s attempt to ban their protest after protesters at an earlier rally did not wear masks or keep their distance, flooded the city with thousands of requests for additional protests this weekend.
