Police launch murder investigation after man shot in Birmingham

Police launched a murder investigation after a man was shot and killed in Birmingham last night (Aug 28).

The 26-year-old was shot and killed on Bagshaw Road, Stechford, just before 8 p.m.

West Midlands Police have recorded the scene and a blue tent has been erected.

Officers are speaking to witnesses and examining CCTV.

BirminghamLive has a photographer on his way to the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Scott Griffiths, of the force’s homicide unit, said: “We have spoken with several witnesses to try to get a clear understanding of the events that led to this incident.

“I encourage anyone who has information or images from the dash cam and has not yet spoken to us to get in touch.

“We need the help of the community to provide information so that we can find the person or persons responsible.

“The man’s family is devastated and has the support of specialist officers at this difficult time.”
