Birmingham and Wolverhampton facilities searched a woman’s torso found in suitcases

Police rushed to the houses in Birmingham and Wolverhampton to search for premises related to the discovery of a human torso.

The human remains, belonging to an unidentified woman, were discovered by Gloucestershire Police officers.

The grim discovery has led to a man, from Wolverhampton, in the West Midlands, being arrested by police.

He is being questioned, and police are also questioning a Birmingham woman, who is in her 20s, after the grim discovery was made.

Police found the remains in two suitcases in a vehicle near Coleford, Gloucestershire, after receiving reports of two people acting suspiciously.

Our sister GloucestershireLive’s title reveals that DNA is currently being used to identify body identification.

A spokesman said: “A post mortem examination yesterday was inconclusive and further examinations are being conducted to determine the cause of death.”

“DNA tests are also underway to identify the female victim.

“Searches have continued today around the Stowfield Quarry area near Coleford and some road closures are still in effect in the vicinity.

“The police wish to thank local residents and those affected by the closings for their patience during the investigation.

“The Birmingham and Wolverhampton facilities were searched after the arrest of a woman in her 20s and a man in her 30s.”

Two people remain in custody today, Friday, May 15, in connection with the incident.

Gloucestershire Police said a murder investigation was ongoing today.
