Welsh Prime Minister Mark Drakeford has spoken of the “close relationship and long history” between Wales and the North West in urging people to stay away.
He said: “Wales is the favorite destination for so many visitors to the region, and the people of North Wales enjoy the leisure, sports and facilities that the North West has to offer.
“But, for now, we cannot visit each other.
“The Stay at Home coronavirus rules remain in place in Wales.
“While there has been some relaxation of travel in England, the situation is different in Wales.”
“You are not allowed to travel to Wales for pleasure.
“If you travel to Wales for pleasure, you risk being stopped by the police and turning around. You could be fined.”
“Our strict Stay at Home rules are in place to protect us all from the coronavirus.
“The Welsh government sets the rules in Wales.
