This morning, viewers were stunned by generally lighthearted presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on Monday morning when they broke into the Prime Minister.
The duo was famous for being friendly to Boris Johnson in the past after posing together for a selfie, but it seems the friendship is over.
Phil started the show by saying, “We have to start this morning in a state of utter confusion after Boris Johnson’s speech at the nation last night.”
“His speech created more questions than answers.”
Holly revealed that she had almost stayed afloat during these difficult times, and seemed emotional when she said she felt mentally knocked down after the confusing advice.

“I think we are about to bear that we have all done so well. We have all done exactly what we have been told.”
“We were doing very well to keep our spirits up, keep going, keep going, keep going, but when there’s this level of confusion, it takes you back.”
“When you feel like you’re getting familiar with it, you stay afloat, it just hits you back,” he said.
Phil said he was confused since the speech “lacked clarity” and that people would have to choose which parent to watch.
“That is the problem this morning, now we lack clarity, I understood until last night at 7 o’clock, I understood where we were going, I understood what was happening.”
“Now I don’t understand, I don’t know what’s going on,” he angered.
Both noted that the Secretary of Foreign Relations Dominic Raab has declined to answer questions about ITV’s GMB or This Morning, after giving incorrect advice on The Today Show that the government was forced to back down.
Phillip went on to say that if Boris’ speech was part of a ridiculous sketch by Monty Python, it would be said to have been “too far-fetched”.
“No government would screw it up so much. What are we allowed to do? You couldn’t make this up, or write this. You made us cross today, Boris Johnson.”
“It’s completely amazing, we’ve been really level here and really responsive.
But this has pushed us to the limit today, “he added, urging a government representative to come to the program and clear things up.
Spectators were shocked when normally gentle presenters ranted about Boris.
“Omg loving the fact that @Schofe and @hollywills are just as confused as everyone else regarding what Boris said last night #ThisMorning,” one tweeted.
“There is poor leadership, there is general incompetence, and then there is a mistake so unfathomable that you manage to trick Phillip Schofield,” added another.
A third noted: “FFS … even #thismorning have lost their meaning in the stormy storms of our national governments.”
“#ThisMorning Cripes, even Philip Schofield called it chaos, asking for a government spokesperson to clarify but ‘no one available’,” added a fourth.
“No more selfies for Boris then. #ThisMorning” another joked.
Later on in the show, the presenters put Boris’s advice on once more when they were joined on video by Matthew Wright and Michelle Gayle.
“The government shutdown relief plan is already in crisis, Dominic Raab contradicted his advice that millions of workers return to their duties immediately, in the middle of rush hour,” said Phillip.
“The foreign secretary insists that the government is not urging workers to return until Wednesday, despite official press release number 10 claiming to return today.”
“It is chaos,” he added.
Matthew agreed, noting that Raab’s clarification of the return to work would have been broadcast when millions of people were already back to work at rush hour.
This morning a picture of a dangerously crowded subway car appeared, and Matthew agreed it was “scary.”
Michelle added: “They were mixed messages at best, so why are we surprised that Dominic Raab contradicted what was said when it made no sense?
“How can you say, ‘Go to work,’ without letting workplaces know how to keep their staff safe? It was ridiculous to say it.”
* This morning it is transmitted by ITV from Monday to Friday at 10 a.m.
