Red Bull Leipzig boss Ralf Rangnick says the club’s star striker Timo Werner would adapt to moving to Liverpool.
Speculation continues to link Werner with a transfer to Anfield this summer, despite Liverpool not yet showing any concrete interest in the player.
Questions remain over whether Werner could challenge Liverpool’s current top three and whether he would fit in with the Reds’ style of play.
But Leipzig’s head of sports development Rangnick has no doubt that Liverpool would be perfect for the 24-year-old.
In analyzing Werner’s future, Rangnick told BILD: “The league is less important, but the club, from a purely hypothetical point of view, would be better off seeing it in good hands with a club that is not necessarily defined by possession of soccer ball”.

“Since Timo has progressed under Julian Nagelsmann, his most important weapons, however, are the quick-change movement and his powerful finish.
“Therefore, I would prefer to fit in with a club like Liverpool, which is similar to our style of play, but I would prefer that he stay here.”
Jurgen Klopp is a long-time admirer of Werner, and is believed to be targeting attack reinforcements in the transfer window.
The German international has a £ 52 million release clause, and scoffed at a move to Merseyside earlier, but highlighted concerns about playing time.
Several other clubs have also shown interest in Werner, including Chelsea, although Liverpool does not seem to intend to zoom in.
When asked about his potential new employers in March, Werner suggested that his three options were: join a club that currently competes for honors, such as Liverpool, and fight for his place; move to a big club in transition, like Man Utd, but play more regularly; or stay in Leipzig.
Rangnick added: “In the end, it is up to Timo to decide what he wants to do. Here in Leipzig he knows what he has.”
“Here you can play the Champions League again next year.”
“And Timo is someone who also needs confidence. He only gets it if the respective coach knows him and trusts him.”
