This is what you can do now that the blocking rules have changed

Boris Johnson has unveiled the next stage of England’s coronavirus strategy.

Almost two months after the initial broadcast announcing a blockade across the UK, a number of changes have now been made to the restrictions.

After revealing that the situation has been downgraded from level four to level three in the new Covid Alert Level system, he warned that now is not the time to end the crash.

However, restrictions have been eased in a small number of areas.

This is what has changed, and what you can now do now has the blocking rules changed.

Having ‘unlimited’ time outdoors

Starting Wednesday, people can now spend time outdoors for reasons other than exercise. The prime minister said he wants to encourage people to do more or even unlimited amounts of exercise outdoors.

But this is not limited to walking or jogging. This includes spending time sitting in the sun in the park, for example.

But this can only happen with other members of your own home, and you must stay socially away from others at all times.

Play sports outdoors

The Prime Minister has also said that people will be able to play sports outdoors, but again, only with other members of their household and social distancing must be observed at all times.

Travel to other destinations for free time outdoors.

Until now, people have only been able to exercise locally. But now, you are allowed to drive to other destinations to spend time outdoors and for reasons other than exercising.

However, it has not been specified exactly how far people will be allowed to travel for exercise or free time.

Return to work in some cases

Those who have been unable to work from home due to the nature of their work have now been told that they can return to the workplace.

Starting Monday (morning), anyone who cannot work from home, for example those in construction and manufacturing, are actively encouraged to go to work.

Employers have received new government guidance on how they can make their workplace “Covid Secure” to allow workers to return safely.

However, people are reminded that public transport will be subject to social distancing measures, so those who return to work must travel by car, on foot or by bicycle.
