TONY FERGUSON was rushed to the hospital after his surprising loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 249.

Ferguson, who had not lost since 2012, was scheduled to face the undefeated Russian for the lightweight title FIVE times.

And the American was the big favorite to win the interim belt against Gaethje after the coronavirus pandemic forced Khabib to withdraw.

But Ferguson was out of action and dominated against his helpless opponent, who connected thunderous hooks en route to referee Herb Dean to stop combat in the fifth round.

UFC President Dana White later confirmed that Niko Price and 36 years old had gone to the hospital after their respective defeats.

He added: “I thought Tony Ferguson looked out tonight. He seemed slow.”

Meanwhile, Ferguson, who initially refused to hug Gaethje after the fight, later admitted that he had undergone preparation for Khabib.

Justin is a tough motherfucker, I’ll be real. I prepared myself for Khabib; not too much of a striker. But nothing happens, man.

He said: “It was a long camp.

“The weight cut had nothing to do with it. Justin is a tough son of a bitch, I’ll be real.

“I prepared for Khabib; I’m not too forward. But nothing happens, man. What can you do? I would rather have finished rather than someone intervening.

He added: “Let’s go back and move on, do you understand what I mean? The round of comfort you have to get back. Supports for Justin, like I said, and his team; tough son of a bitch. Thank you for taking the fight.”

UFC 249 was held behind closed doors in Jacksonville, Florida, as the world is devastated by the coronavirus crisis.

Elsewhere on the card, Henry Cejudo announced his shocked RETREAT after his controversial victory over Dominick Cruz while Francis Ngannou knocked out Jairzinho Rozenstruik in just 20 SECONDS.

The event received praise from United States President Donald Trump, who urged sports leagues to return after sending their congratulations to Dana White.
