27-year-old rushed to Addenbrooke’s after being shot in the chest

A 27-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the chest, police said.

Two men were arrested after the incident, which occurred last night (May 9).

The victim was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in Woolpit, Suffolk, and was transferred to Addenbrooke Hospital in Cambridge by ambulance where he is undergoing treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Agents found the injured man at the scene near Woolpit Business Park last night after being called around 11:55 pm to report that a man had sustained a gunshot wound.

Subsequently, a 56-year-old man from Woolpit and a 42-year-old man from Stowmarket were arrested on suspicion of causing serious bodily harm.

They were taken to the Bury St. Edmunds Police Investigation Center for questioning.

The arrested men are believed to have been shooting rabbits on nearby farmland.
