Tributes paid to ‘loving’ woman as murder probe launched

“Heartfelt sympathy” and tributes have been paid to a woman in her 40s who died after reportedly falling from a window, as a murder investigation is launched by police.

A huge police presence was called to Greenall Road, in Prescot, on Saturday morning after a domestic incident, police said.

The force said it was called at about 3.30am to a report a woman in her 40s was found with fatal injuries, having “reportedly fell from a window”.

Officers said a 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.

Reacting to the devastating news, Sandra Steele wrote: “Such sad news, heartbroken for all her family. Thinking of you all.”

Davies Marie wrote: “RIP girl, reunited with your son x so sad x.”


Another woman also wrote on the ECHO’s Facebook page to say the woman who died was her sister-in-law and she was “loving”.

Nadine Henderson wrote: “RIP my friend, I’ll never forget you xx”

Condolences were also offered to the woman’s family.


Officers have not yet officially identified the woman who died, but said specialist officers will be with the family.

Jo Cotton wrote: “I can’t believe it, I’m so sorry xx”

Natalie Campbell said: “So sad, thinking of all the family.”

Officers confirmed a 38-year-old man was taken to a police station on Saturday for questioning.


Pictures from the scene showed a heavy police presence in the area, as officers continue their investigation.

House-to-house inquiries will continue today, the force said.

A spokesman for the force said: “Detectives have arrested a man on suspicion of murder following a domestic incident in Prescot in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 9 May.

“At around 3.30am, emergency services were called to Greenall Court to a report of a woman in her 40s being found with fatal injuries having reportedly failed from a window.

“A 38-year-old man was detained at the scene, arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken to a police station for questioning.

“The victim will be formally identified and specialist officers will be supporting her family.
