What we know so far about the ‘medical emergency’ in Deeside that required two air ambulances

Two air ambulances were called to a “medical emergency” in Deeside on Saturday.

Helicopter teams landed in the field at the former John Summers High School in Queensferry after an incident in the High Street area around 11 a.m. (May 9).

Police, fire, and paramedic officers were also called to the scene.

The first air ambulance landed around 11 a.m., before a second helicopter appeared to assist at 11:30 a.m.

Witnesses said police blocked the main street between KFC and Dundas Street while emergency service teams worked on the scene.

Around 12:15 p.m., one of the air ambulances flew to Aintree Hospital in Liverpool before the second air ambulance returned to its base.

Local rumors that someone had been attacked were dismissed by North Wales police, who said the incident was “medical” in nature.

They did not provide further information about the incident.

The Welsh Ambulance Service also confirmed that they were called for a “medical incident”, but did not provide further details.

The fire service said they were called to “assist the police” at the scene, but added that no further information could be released.

It is unclear at this stage if anyone was transferred to Aintree Hospital.
