Roy Horn (correct) and his associate Siegfried Fischbacher organized one of the longest running shows in Las Vegas
Roy Horn, a member of the longtime magical duo Siegfried and Roy, died at age 75 after contracting coronavirus.
Horn and his German compatriot Siegfried Fischbacher have been recognized along with whiter tigers and different animals for their performance.
They began performing in Las Vegas in 1967 and held sold-out exhibitions at the metropolis Mirage Resort for 14 years.
Horn was pressured to stop acting in 2003 after a white tiger attacked him during one of his shows.
“As we speak, the world has lost one of the many greats of magic, yet I have lost my best friend,” Fischbacher said in an ad. “From the moment we met, I knew that Roy and I, collectively, would change the world.”
The German-born couple met while on a cruise ship: Horn as a butler and Siegfried as a magical artist. They have reportedly been fired for bringing a cheetah to the ship, however, soon after they began to act collectively for an additional cruise ship based primarily in New York.

The duo’s act then moved onto the European nightclub circuit earlier than they were invited to perform in Las Vegas.
Siegfried and Roy became an establishment, breaking information for the longest act in the metropolis. Her exhibits mingle with magical methods with circus thrills, with performances including dozens of rare lions and white tigers.
In 1989, his act moved to the Mirage Resort, the largest theater in the metropolis. The Mirage continues to house an animal attraction known as Siegfried & Roy’s secret backyard.
Horn was seriously injured after one of each of his tigers bit him on the neck and took him offstage for an entire efficiency. He also suffered a stroke.
The incident completely affected their mobility and speech, however Horn was ready to participate on a few occasions before the duo retired in 2010.
“Roy was a fighter throughout his life along with the remaining days,” said Mr. Fischbacher. “I give my sincere thanks to the group of doctors, nurses and workers at Mountain View Hospital [in Las Vegas] who heroically worked towards this insidious virus. “
