Andrea Bocelli broadcast an impressive live concert on Easter Sunday in an attempt to send “love, healing and hope” to Italy in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
The 61-year-old Italian opera singer left viewers around the world crying when 3.4 million watched his Music For Hope concert live from the desert Duomo di Milano.

The archpriest, Monsignor Gianantonio Borgonovo, and the mayor, Giuseppe Sala, granted Bocelli exclusive access to the Milan cathedral, currently closed, for his sensational set ‘Music For Hope’.
Milan’s cathedral is currently closed in the midst of the pandemic, but it opened its doors exclusively only to Bocelli and organist Emanuel for the event hosted by Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo, a 600-year-old organization that oversees the building.
For his performance, Bocelli was accompanied by the organist of the Duomo di Milano, Emanuele Vianelli, while playing Ave Maria and Sancta Maria.
Viewers from around the world turned to social media to express their gratitude to the singer, who delivered one of his most iconic performances to date.
