NEW York State has had a shocking 160,000 people infected with coronavirus and 7,000 deaths, more cases than any other country outside of the United States.

In comparison, there have been around 150,000 cases in Spain and 140,000 in Italy, according to the Johns Hopkins researchers.

The United States leads the way with 450,000 cases, which is now about a third of all cases worldwide.

It was revealed Thursday that the number of deaths at the Empire State Building increased by 799.

Additionally, it was announced that New York Correction Officers will be evaluated after nearly 500 contracted the virus.

The latest troubling numbers came when New York Governor Andrew Cuomo criticized President Trump and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s deadlines for reopening the Big Apple.

Cuomo said Thursday that “he won’t guess” when New Yorkers can stop adhering to the COVID-19 guidelines.

The governor dismissed Trump’s prediction that the country should be back in business before Easter and de Blasio’s recent claim that the restrictions could last until June.

“How can you say that?” Cuomo said, adding that even expert predictions were off. “Who can look forward and say this is where we are going to be?

“I have no idea. I don’t know if that curve goes up or down,” he added. “We will know when we get there … We look at the data every day.”

“I tell you that the smartest person will start by saying I don’t know and that is the sign of wisdom for me.”

Cuomo confirmed that more than 7,067 New Yorkers had died from the coronavirus compared to the 2,753 deaths that resulted in the September 11 terror attacks.

It also revealed that the state lost 799 other people in 24 hours again on April 8 after the same number of patients died the day before.

This number marked the highest number of deaths in a single day from the fatal error and Cuomo revealed that the state had to turn to more funeral directors to cope with the increasing deaths.

The governor was asked to speak directly to comment on de Blasio’s statement Thursday that social distancing guidelines may have to be adjusted in New York until June.

“April, we are going to have to fight this fight the way we are now in May, that could be a lot of May,” de Blasio said.

“I would love for some change to happen in May. But it may not be until June.”

The news comes 18 days after the PAUSE measure went into effect, closing businesses and schools across New York.

Cuomo noted that although 39 days have passed since the first COVID case emerged in New York, and 80 days since it was detected in the United States, the state “was not yet out of the woods.”

He warned residents that they were too eager to end this “groundhog day reality.”

“Yes, you are not out of the woods yet and now is not the time to misunderstand what is happening,” Cuomo said of declining hospitalization rates in the state.

De Blasio later seemed to double his hopeful projection and said he did not want to “overstate” the positive developments in New York.

“They are good signs but they are early signs,” he told Andrea Mitchell. “You can’t release the gas. ”

Trump had previously expressed a desire to open the country on Sunday, April 12, which White House expert Dr. Anthony Fauci described as an “aspirational target.”

“Wouldn’t it be great to have all the churches full?” Trump said on March 24. “On Easter Sunday and they will have packed churches across our country.”

Last week, the president warned that the country must prepare for a “very deadly period” after enacting the Defense Production Law and signing a $ 2 trillion coronavirus aid package for struggling Americans.

Cuomo complained that New York was made difficult as the state faces a deficit of $ 15 billion, but these $ 1,200 checks are expected to start affecting people’s bank accounts on April 9.
