Wild theorists claim that Kim Jong Un has twice as many bodies after the North Korean leader made his first public appearance after weeks of rumors that he had died.
State media broadcast footage of Kim at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at a fertilizer plant outside Pyongyang on Friday, his first appearance since April 11.
The images have been taken by Internet detectives who claim, in the tradition of autocrats, including Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Saddam Hussein, that the man depicted is a political lure and not Kim at all.
Kim’s ears and teeth have been the focus, many comparing very dated images of a younger Kim, with recent images from last week’s 36-year-old. At least one, which focuses on his teething, has been rigged to back up the outrageous claim.

Regarding Kim’s ear structure, the differences are much more subtle, and there is a vague suggestion that her lobes have changed shape (Kim’s photo on the right is from 2010)
A brief look at the images released by the Korean propaganda machine would show that the image of Kim with crooked teeth is a crude version of one of the officially released photos.
Elaborating further, Ms. Mensch wrote: ‘He is not the same person. But I will not discuss it. Hairy moment when I thought my information was wrong. However, it was not bad.
“I am not sure if we should accept it or not, but these two are not the same.”
Regarding Kim’s atrial structure, the differences are much more subtle, and there is a vague suggestion that her lobes have changed shape.
But some of the comparisons use images of the North Korean leader from a decade ago, and his indulgent diet has changed his facial structure since then.
Jennifer Zeng, a blogger who takes a hard line against the Chinese Communist Party, shared numerous photos that have gained popularity online.

Zeng also shared an image highlighting a spot on Kim’s wrist, however, experts said over the weekend that this could be related to a recent cardiovascular procedure, which some believe was the reason for his recent absence.
Other images show a mark on Kim’s wrist that appears to be new, however, as reported on this website, it is believed to be related to cardiovascular surgery.
On Saturday, North Korean media published photos of Kim smiling and smoking cigarettes at a fertilizer plant opening ceremony.
Kim was last seen in public on April 11, when he chaired a meeting of the ruling Workers’ Party in Pyongyang.
On April 15, he inexplicably missed a Sun Day celebration honoring his grandfather Kim Il-Sung, the founder of North Korea, and his father, Kim Jong Il.
His unprecedented absence sparked a wave of speculation about his health, particularly regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
Kim is known for his indulgent diet, his penchant for vintage claret, and his smoking habit, all of which would make him more susceptible to contagion.
But on Friday, May 1, the despot eased any fear with his first public appearance after his absence, when he cut the ribbon at the opening of a fertilizer factory in Sunchon.
In his appearance at the fertilizer factory, Kim expressed satisfaction with the production system and said the plant made a significant contribution to the progress of the country’s chemical industry and food production, KCNA said.
The marks on Kim’s wrist seen while sitting in a golf cart at the factory suggest he may have undergone heart surgery, according to medical experts.
