4-year-old boy murdered on Plumstead floor as woman charged with murder

A woman in her 30s was charged with murder after a four-year-old boy was killed in south-east London, police said.

The boy, who has not been identified by police, was found dead inside an apartment on Invermore Place in Plumstead at 7:49 a.m. on December 27. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The woman, who is related to the boy, was arrested and taken into police custody.

She was charged with murder on December 27 and will appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.

The boy’s closest relatives have been informed and investigations are continuing into the full circumstances of his death, the Metropolitan Police said.

A post-mortem exam will be held on December 31.
