A woman in her 30s is the second person arrested for the murder of a missing 17-year-old girl, who went missing in July.
Bernadette Walker’s parents reported her missing on July 21 after they had not seen her at her Peterborough home for three days.
Cambridgeshire police launched a “disembodied” murder investigation after extensive search operations found no trace of the teenager.
A 50-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder and remains in detention.

Bernadette’s parents, Sarah Walker, 39, and Scott Walker, 50, reportedly told police they last saw her on July 18 when she ran out of her car.
Walker said her daughter texted her nearly two days later at 1 a.m. on July 20 to say she would be returning “soon” to the family’s five-room council house in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
Bernadette’s parents reported her missing to police the next day, July 21, when they told officers they had heard nothing more about her.
Walker, a mother of nine who had a baby girl about six months ago, distributed posters around Peterborough asking for information about her missing daughter, who loved goth and punk music.
Specialized forensic officers were seen entering and leaving the home along with a police dog handler and a spaniel sniffer dog.

In August, Ms. Walker told PeterboroughMatters.com: ‘I can’t eat or sleep well. I miss and love my older princess so much that she is missing her baby sister, that she has already learned to smile and coo. ‘
She revealed that she hadn’t had any contact from her daughter since 1 a.m. on July 20, when Bernadette texted her to tell her she was on her way home.
Police officers were today standing guard outside the family’s modern semi-detached house, which was cordoned off with police tape.

Bernadette is described as having a medium build with half brown, half ginger blonde hair.

DCI Jerry Waite said: ‘Due to the length of time Bernadette has been missing and concerns that she may have suffered harm, we made the decision to declare this a murder investigation yesterday morning.
“While we hope to find Bernadette alive and well, there is a possibility that this is not the case, therefore my team and I will do everything we can to find out what happened to her and bring the offenders to justice.”
Bernadette ran out of her parents’ car on July 18, contacted her family two days later, but was reported missing the next day.
Bernadette has not accessed social media since then and no friends have heard from her.
Her family originally thought she had taken spare clothes, but has since found the items under the schoolgirl’s bed.
Bernadette is described as having a medium build with medium brown, medium ginger blonde hair.
He has facial piercings and two homemade tattoos.
