A 27-year-old man died in hospital after sustaining serious injuries.
Agents were called to Cheviot Square in Winsford around 10:30 pm Sunday following reports of a “riot.”
Upon arrival, the police found that two men aged 27 and 36 had suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
A third man, 26, later presented to the hospital with injuries, which a Cheshire police spokesman also described as “serious”.
Unfortunately, the police confirmed that the 27-year-old man died shortly thereafter in hospital and his relatives were informed.
A witness who contacted CheshireLive said he heard a helicopter around midnight flying over his home.
The witness said that when he was walking his dog this morning, the area was cordoned off and forensics were on site.
Speaking to CheshireLive, he said: “I heard helicopters last night around midnight.
“When I was walking my dog this morning, I noticed forensics and people in suits.
“The entire plaza is cordoned off from Ponda’s pharmacy to McColl’s.
“I was talking to a woman and I said ‘I thought this is a good area’ and she said it used to be.
“It’s a bit shocking.”
A video filmed by the dog walker this morning shows two coroners on the scene and a police vehicle, with the entire plaza cordoned off.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said investigations are continuing and an investigation is now underway.
