FULL REPORT: Biden ‘won enough to take the White House’

Joe Biden has stated that he is winning enough states to take the White House in America’s razor’s edge elections, as the key battlefields of Wisconsin and Michigan were called up for him.

Speaking in his home state of Delaware, the former vice president said he would not declare victory, but believed he was on his way to getting enough votes in the polling place system to beat President Donald Trump.

Mr. Biden said: “It is clear that we are winning enough states to reach the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency.

“I am not here to declare that we have won, but I am here to report that when the count ends we believe we will be the winners.”

It came as the Trump campaign announced that it was suing to temporarily halt the counting of votes in Pennsylvania, claiming a lack of “transparency,” and that the president had also instigated legal action over vote counting in Michigan.

The campaign also filed a lawsuit in Chatham County, Georgia, essentially asking a judge to make sure state laws were followed on absentee ballots, and Trump officials said they were considering targeting a dozen other counties across the state with similar claims.

Referring to the situation in Pennsylvania, Justin Clark, Trump’s deputy campaign manager, said the president’s side is “suing to prevent Democratic election officials from hiding the counting and processing of ballots from our Republican election observers.”

He said the campaign wanted to “temporarily halt the recount until there is meaningful transparency and Republicans can ensure that the entire recount is done correctly and in accordance with the law.”
