Downing Street has repeatedly refused to say whether all votes should be counted in American elections.
Boris Johnson’s spokesman declined to directly answer multiple questions about the matter during a regular briefing with journalists.

It comes after the president of the USA. Donald trump duplicated in unsubstantiated claims his political opponents are trying to “rig” and “steal” the elections.
In a speech at the White House, he promised litigation to stop this, but once again offered no evidence of his allegations of corruption and large-scale ballot manipulation.
Joe biden, who today could be confirmed as president-elect, has urged Americans to “remain calm” because “the process is working.”
His team responded to Trump’s intervention, saying it was “desperate, unfounded and a sure sign that he is losing.”
When asked if the UK wanted all ballots in the US to be counted, Johnson’s spokesman responded by saying that “the country’s electoral process should have time to come to a conclusion.”
When asked again if No. 10 expected all votes to be counted, the spokesman replied that the electoral process “is a matter for the United States.”
He later added that Downing Street “trusted the checks and balances” of the American electoral system.
When asked for his views on the US elections, Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin told Sky News: “Every vote must and must be counted.
“I admire what is happening and have watched it with great interest over the last few days, the organization of the vote and the attention to detail and the assertion of those responsible for the counts that everything possible is being done to ensure the integrity of the vote.
“I think it’s worth seeing and it’s very important that, as broadcasters have emphasized, the need to count every vote and make every vote count.”
Martin said Dublin had a “very strong and lasting relationship” with Washington, which would continue regardless of who was elected.
“It is a very close call and trends are emerging in a certain direction, but we hope to continue that relationship with the newly elected president,” he added.
