What happened was outrageous: a shotgun fired several times on a public road in the afternoon. It happened not far from a nursery. Other people who are not related to any of the gangs could have easily been injured.
“It is a truly tragic case and a stark reminder of the consequences of being involved in gangs. A young life has been lost and the lives of two others, including a young child, have been completely ruined.
“We can help people who want to turn their backs on gang culture. Together with our partners, including charities and support groups, we can help young people make better decisions.
“But for those who insist on joining violent gangs, there is a great chance that they will be seriously injured, killed or spend a large part of their lives locked up in jail.”
