A 12-year-old BOY was stabbed to death in a quiet town, while today a 14-year-old boy was charged with his murder.
Roberts Buncis was found dead on a small green in Fishtoft, Lincs, just hours before his 13th birthday.
Heartbroken friends today paid tribute to the “genuinely good boy” when a 14-year-old suspect appeared in court.
And the police also announced that tonight a 13-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder.
The “genuinely good boy” was found dead on a small green near the house he shared with his father in a “nice” area of Boston, Lincs, on Saturday.
It is understood that he was stabbed during the fight, which also left his alleged attacker with a serious injury, meaning he could lose his hand.
A 19-year-old Portuguese man is believed to have been present at the time of the stabbing, but told detectives he was not involved in the attack.
He was questioned by detectives and was released without further action.
Officers continued to question him today and asked CCTV to cover the scene of the alleged murder.
APPEARED IN COURT
One mother, who used to take Robert to elementary school with her children, said: “It is such terrible and sad news, such a big impact.
“He was one of the really nice guys. He was a really good boy. “
Another mother, confirming the details, said: “Roberts’s mother is still in Latvia. He separated from his father years and years ago.
“Robert came here alone with his father when he was so little.”
Robert’s principal, Matthew Van Lier, led the tributes today saying it was an “incredibly sad day” for his school, Haven High.
He said: “Yesterday we were informed that a member of our academy had been separated from his family and friends long before his time.
‘INCREDIBLY SAD DAY’
“To make matters worse, he would have been celebrating his 13th birthday today.
“He was a popular young man destined for a life of joy, happiness and success and today we must try to remember him that way.
“Words cannot describe the shared sadness we all feel today, as the hopes and dreams of one of our students will never come true.
“But we will never let the foolish actions of a few overshadow the successful lives of many.
“This news defies all belief, we still expect him to walk around the corner with his friends, laughing and joking, planning how to escape without completing his home learning and trying to remember which lesson to attend next.
As many have said, words fail us. We are all left with a question ‘why’, what emotion can lead another to take the beautiful life of a child in its prime, we ask ourselves the same question ‘why?’ Unfortunately we have no answers, only sadness. “
To make matters worse, he would have been celebrating his 13th birthday today. “

Family friend Tatjana Vainiuniene wrote on social media: “Another innocent child lost. I can’t believe you’ve already left at such a young age.
“You were such a sweet boy and you put big smiles on people’s faces.
“I can’t believe the pain your family is going through right now, this news is so devastating and it happened so quickly.
“The pain that his family and close friends are going through now is incredible. Many miss him.”
A JustGiving page to raise money for the scholar’s funeral had already raised nearly £ 10,000.
It read: “As many of us now know, Roberts Buncis’s life was tragically taken from his family and friends on Saturday December 12, he was 12.”
“Roberts comes from a single parent family, just Roberts and his dad Edgars and therefore we would like to help with the funeral costs and also to make this time easier for his family, money is always right for everyone at this time of the year.
“So anything that can be donated will be greatly appreciated, even if it’s only a few pounds. Thank you and God bless you all.”
‘TRAGIC’
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “Following formal identification, we are now in a position to name the boy who lost his life in this tragic incident as 12-year-old Roberts Buncis.
“A 14-year-old boy has been charged with his murder. He has been placed in preventive custody and will appear in court this morning.
“The 19-year-old, arrested yesterday, remains in police custody.”
Detective Superintendent Martyn Parker said: “This is a devastating incident in which a child lost his life.
“Without a doubt, the impact will be felt a lot in the community and beyond.
“This type of incident is not what we would expect to see in our communities. We are working with those affected to keep them informed and offer them our support ”.
Police requested CCTV to cover the intersection of Freiston Road and Woodthorpe Avenue, and Wing Drive and Alcorn Green between 8 p.m. Friday and 10.22 a.m. Saturday to contact them.
