The UK government has said it will publish a guide this week that will allow “a small number of essential cast and crew” to travel to the UK without having to quarantine for 14 days.
Those people will need to live and work in “bubbles” that comprise only accommodation and filming locations.
The move aims to ease restrictions on high-end domestic investment film and television productions, as well as major sporting events. The UK has already released Covid security protocols for productions.
Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said: “The world’s biggest box office hits and high-end television shows are made in Britain.
“Our creativity, experience, and highly successful tax breaks for our display industries means that we are in high demand, which in turn offers a great return for our economy.

“We want the industry to recover and exempting a small number of key actors and personnel from quarantine is part of our continued commitment to get the cameras back up and running safely.”
