Former Champion of Ultimate Fighting (UFC) champion Daniel Cormier will step into the Octagon this past one October. night (Aug. 15, 2020) to include current Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic at the UFC 252 Main Event at UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada exclusively on ESPN + pay-per-view (PPV).
The series is tied at once with “DC” which Miocic clocked back at UFC 228 in 2018 to become the final champion of dual division, while Stipe got his revenge at UFC 241 a year later, also via knockout (KO ). And that’s where the flashback takes us this week, as we watch the rematch between the two talented champions.
Things started nicely even in the first few rounds. That was until Miocic found a weakness in the love of Cormier: Body shots.
When Miocic once saw that Cormier did not like him digging at his body, the world champion began to do just that, the former Olympian simultaneously with one body shot after another. After softening the body, Miocic tagged “DC” with a straight right, rocking the former Light Heavyweight king. Once damned, Miocic stepped up to the penalty line on the tune of 10 unanswered hits to put an end to the fight.
Now the two men will put their rivalry to bed with this much anticipated championship camp for trilogy. Of course, Cormier would have to leave the sport at the top, which means Miocic could fight himself quite a bit in the other title for the low-lying belt at the end of the year. So win, lose or draw, it looks like Miocic is once again on a collision course against Francis Ngannou.
