You’re still not bored with the Battle Royale genre, are you? No matter what your answer to that question is, Ubisoft has decided to include its own version of the concept in the mix with Hyper Scape. This 100-player free online FPS is yet another battle for first place and is coming to PlayStation 4 in the near future, but you can see the game in action right now on Twitch. The game has immediately entered a closed beta phase on PC, which means that several streamers are already part of the Ubisoft marketing.
This appears to be a Battle Royale game that primarily focuses on futuristic technology and verticality throughout the Neo Arcadia city. You’ll start each game with just one melee weapon, locally acquired weapons and benchmarks that house the most wanted loot. Hacks act as perks and grant certain abilities designed around offense, defense, and movement – you can have two at any time and the same amount of weapons. Hyper Scape seems to stick to the tried and true formula of a successful Battle Royale title, excluding its interesting inclusion of Hacks, but it’s the combat and fast-paced navigation that really seems to set it apart.
