“We obviously hoped this day wouldn’t come, but unfortunately, Wisconsin is in a very different and more terrible place today, and our healthcare systems are flooding,” Evers said.
Other state leaders say they are not far behind.
Other states, including Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming, have seen record-high hospital admissions in recent days.
At least the U.S., scattered across the Midwest and Northeast. In half of the states, more new cases have been reported than in previous weeks, according to Johns Hopkins. Cases are reported to be declining in only two states – Alabama and Hawaii.
State leaders take new steps
U.S. No. Some leaders have taken new steps in the hope of controlling the spread of the virus. In Kentucky, Gov. Andy Bachere said the state is seeing a third major increase in cases and his mask order will be renewed for another 30 days.
Wisconsin also issued a new order earlier this week limiting public ceremonies. And in New York, the governor announced restrictions for areas where Kovid-19 clusters were forming – including closing schools and limiting crowds at places of worship.
Clusters of Covid-19 cases in Rockland areas of New York City in Brooklyn, Queens and Outland and parts of Orange Counties have alerted city officials, where schools reopened for individual classes last week. The clusters are in large Orthodox Jewish populated areas, and Governav. Andrew Cuomo has alleged that part of the outbreak was due to a lack of mask-wearing in the community.
Health officials said a Northern California county also imposed more restrictions this week after more than 160 students and staff associated with Evangelical College led a positive test for the virus. Shasta County was moved to a more restricted level this week in a state reopening plan, signaling a “significant” spread of the virus. The move means some non-essential indoor businesses, such as bars that do not provide food, will have to shut down. The growing spread of the virus has also forced nearby Tehama County to move to a more restricted level.
WHO officials say sick people need to stay home
Despite the dire outlook for the next few months, experts have long said there are many ways to catch the virus until a vaccine is available.
World Health Dr. Mike Ryan, “If sick people stayed at home, and were supported in doing so, and if their contacts stayed at home, and supported in doing so, we could break the back of this disease,” Dr .. the executive director of the organization of the health emergency program said this week.
“We avoid that elephant in the room,” Ryan said during social media Q&A on Wednesday.
Countries “face no option” when a lockdown occurs, Ryan said.
“But this is not an attempt to give no result, we need to find this balance … in between preventing this disease, we should be given time to develop the necessary measures to save lives,” RJ said. .
