Yekta Saraç, President of YÖK, made an important statement on the recruitment of academic staff. Saying: “A new method in the use of academic staff will be implemented in our history of higher education this year,” Saraç shared the information about the operation of the new period with the public.
Here are the statements of Yekta Saraç on the hiring of academic staff in the new legislature:
As “Yeni YÖK”, we are implementing a new method in the use of academic staff breaking new ground in our higher education. The name of our work, which we have built within the logic of a project, is “YÖK-FUTURE PROJECT”.
We will carry out the “YÖK-FUTURE PROJECT for future scientists” in three stages. These:
Phase 1: Employment of Priority Field Research Assistant
Stage 2: Recruitment of Priority Field Teachers
Stage 3: Career platform for academic merit
Today the public for the first time with the first phase of our project, we share the “priority areas of employment, research assistants”, we present the possibility of assigning students to research assistants dedicated to doctoral education in priority areas of Turkey.
In order to gather the skilled workforce in the fields our country needs, “additional” appointment permits were granted for the year 2020 within the scope of the “Priority Areas Research Assistant” staff. The recruitment process was left to the universities, as long as the conditions set by YÖK were not exceeded.
Our aim is a perceptible improvement in our higher education in a short period of time with the appointment of “Priority Field Research Assistants”, who will contribute to the formation of the Turkish higher education system in the framework of “merit and competence” and the specialization of our universities.
The totality of appointments to be made under the project “merit” to be within, not from the group of a particular Turkish university should be made with the group makes this important step even more valuable.
Research assistant permits granted within the scope of the project are “additional” permits granted to selected universities for priority areas. It does not include the announcements to be made by our universities in the current general procedure. The process continues to be carried out by our universities separately on their own channel.
We will share the “Priority Field Instructor” section of our project with the academic community and the public in the coming days.
