Health Minister Fahrettin Koca made a statement after the Coronavirus Scientific Committee meeting.
Highlights from Minister Koca’s speech:
” Our Scientific Council provides support as a guide. We are evaluating all the developments in our country. We have taken important steps to assess and activate local opportunities.
By adding voluntary restrictions to mandatory restrictions, we may reduce the transmission speed and shorten the duration of the restriction.
We increase our testing capacity. The total number of tests reached 20 million. The number of positive cases exceeded 1.5 million. Our hospitals and healthcare professionals are struggling to bear an increasing burden. Our intensive care units are under great stress.
THE NUMBER OF CASES INCREASED MORE THAN 5 FLOORS
In our country, there is an increase of more than 5 times in the number of daily cases and 55 percent in deaths compared to the previous peak in April.
Our number of cases continues to increase in Hatay, Adana, Samsun, Antalya, Mersin, and Ordu. Our hospitals and intensive care units are under great strain.
THE INCREASE IN CASES IS DECREASING IN ISTANBUL
