“We will provide support in a wide range of fields”

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), the Minister of National Education, Ziya Selçuk, pointed out that the schools most affected by the difference in success between secondary schools are mainly those of technical and vocational education.

Noting that they have started a major project involving 1000 Anatolian vocational and technical high schools in 81 provinces to reduce this gap and increase the quality of vocational education, Selçuk said:

“Within the scope of the project, we will provide a wide range of support to these schools, especially in basic skills, from special education support programs to many infrastructure supports such as maintenance and repair, libraries, workshops and sports areas. We will share the improvements provided in the reports. The project will be for one year. Our goal is to make all specific investments and support within this year. I would like to express my gratitude to our Deputy Minister Mahmut Özer, to all my colleagues and 81 provincial directors who supported the project. “

The Minister of National Education, Selçuk, spoke at the publicity meeting of the “Living Schools” Project.

Selçuk declared that they are in a great architectural advance as they say “I wish” to realize this dream today, and that it is a separate joy to be making this architectural advance in such a world because the space-human relationship affects psychology, anthropology, sociology and the happiness of people. He also stated that creating an environment that supports the happiness of children and teachers is vital.

Noting that 12 to 13 years have passed in these places except for higher education, Selçuk said: “In such a place, we need an effort to make sure that the air that children breathe every day, the images they see , the atmosphere in which you live, leave a mark on your life. Today, we are in that effort. We seek to beautify our schools in terms of how beautiful the sound and image will be and what aesthetic affection means and what it means to know its value, just like in charity, he said.

“23 projects developed”

Minister Selçuk pointed out that being the school the places that serve the happiness of the students constitutes the basis of the motivation of learning and continued his words as follows:

“We are talking about voluntary support from our 15 architects. This support is so important that a project is carried out here as an answer to the question of how we do school architecture work if we participate in the world competition.” Noting that they have been working on the project for about 1 year, Selçuk said that the completion of the project is very important to him because he dreamed a lot about this topic, and is currently in an effort to make these dreams about building buildings. noted that they are. Selçuk said why they didn’t design these projects as type projects or “The school has four walls.” He explained what he did not think of as follows:

“Because we try to answer the question of what the ideal school building should look like, how to create the atmosphere that the spirit of the time requires, in the minds and hearts of our architect friends. We try to create an environment in which they would be happy to be. We also think of doing it by renovating existing buildings, we also think of demolishing and rebuilding it, we also think of transforming a school into a town in a historic setting. We also think of doing it from scratch. Sometimes it is necessary to change existing ones. “

Ziya Selçuk, speaking with architects about schools and talking about their dreams, stated that they had a different happiness because they all had great motivation to build a school and feel the joy of children walking in this school.

“The school should not be a place with high and closed walls”

Noting that each school in the project was built considering the climatic, natural and cultural conditions of that city, Selçuk emphasized the importance of respecting the texture, respecting the conditions of the area and taking into account the needs.

Ziya Selçuk pointed out that another aspect of the project is the integration of the schools with the neighborhood and continued her speech as follows:

“The school should not be a place with high and closed walls. Schools should become a living environment and a 24/7 work environment that identifies with the neighborhood, where social activities are carried out and some services are carried out. Precisely for this reason the school should not remain on paper when we say family cooperation, These schools have been transformed into spaces that are integrated with the environment and create an organic bond, so that the cooperation of the school environment is not suspended, or we have led our table culture to schools, and we have tried to differentiate the point of view from the dining rooms.

On the other hand, how do these projects materialize in a vocational training baccalaureate, a fine arts baccalaureate, an Anatolian baccalaureate, a kindergarten, in each of our types and levels of school, we have reinforced the possibility of doing them in any way diversifying the schools. Therefore, we study them all separately. We study the circulation maps at the school separately.

That is, we have taken into account many aspects such as the socialization of children, communication between children, the organization of communication between age groups, the formation of meeting points for teachers, the redesign of teachers’ classrooms. , and of course, smart systems made it onto the agenda to address some innovations and some needs here. . “

“It is about developing ideas, creating an aesthetic perception, respecting art” The Minister of National Education, Ziya Selçuk, affirmed that they are interested in the well-being of children and look at their happiness.

“We are trying to raise awareness about how to become a school for children and how to make every school we build beautiful. The most beautiful buildings in Istanbul are among the buildings that the Ottomans built during the most difficult times. The most beautiful buildings of the Republic The most beautiful buildings of the Republic. So this is not a question of difficulty or absence, it is about developing an intellectual, creating an aesthetic perception, respecting art, if we have the ability to spend with grace what we have, we do it like this.

We will do everything we can to increase this sensitivity in the schools we will build going forward and provide justice of opportunity for our children. We believe that all of our children have the right to receive an education in the most beautiful places. “We are here to build buildings with personality that enrich the personality of the human being.” I hope we realize our thinking as “I hope”.

Stating that the first axis of the study was drawn up for the realization of the project, Selçuk explained that the ministry team works day by day, that the connection with philanthropists has been established and that efforts are being made on what can be done. Selçuk said: “I just heard something like a whisper. I don’t know, did you hear? I also heard a whisper like ‘Our TMSF president will be running one of these schools on behalf of the SDIF. Selçuk thanked those who contributed to the study at the end of his speech.
