The Minister of National Education, Ziya Selçuk, announced that distance education will continue until September 18 and face-to-face education will begin on September 21. After these explanations, it frequently emerged how face-to-face training would be on the agenda.

In the latest statement made by the Ministry of National Education (MEB), it was reported that education will begin on September 21 for preschool and 1st grade.

MINISTER SELÇUK’S EXPLANATION ON THE OPENING OF THE SCHOOLS

Ziya Selçuk, Minister of National Education, used the following statements in his statement:

* We have been watching the world since the beginning of the epidemic process. As you all know, we make decisions in line with the evaluations of the Ministry of Health and the Scientific Committee and in the light of scientific data, and we are going to implement these decisions in the most correct way.

* Almost all European countries, schools began face-to-face education in all grades and classes. However, we are in favor of a more controlled and gradual start in our country.

* According to this; On the start date we set as September 21st, we will begin face-to-face education alone, with our preschoolers who are already open and with freshmen who need an emotional connection to school.

“WE WILL REVIEW THE PROCESS AT THE END OF THREE WEEKS”

* Our first year elementary students will be in our schools for 1 day during the adaptation week and 2 days a week in the following weeks. At the end of the three weeks beginning September 21, we will reevaluate the process for initiating education at other levels and classes.

* Parental consent is important so that we can begin face-to-face education. If our parents wish, they can make an excuse for not sending the student face to face. In this case, our student will continue distance education and will not be considered absent.

* According to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, the size of the classes will be reduced by dividing them into groups for face-to-face education, and the duration of our children in school will be shortened.

“WE TAKE ALL KINDS OF MEASURES UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE”

* Education will continue through distance education in addition to classroom education. Therefore, education and training will continue to use both face-to-face education and distance learning opportunities. The reduction in class sizes will also be reflected in school buses.

* We take all kinds of precautions regarding cleanliness and hygiene in face-to-face education, under the direction of our Ministry of Health and the Scientific Committee. Freshmen who have not experienced school life before; We will find our diluted classrooms, our training program, our non-contact games that will be played with respect to social distance, our contents of the week of harmony studied meticulously and of course the effort of our teachers who will carry this process.

“WE GIVE PRIORITY TO LIVE LESSONS IN DISTANCE EDUCATION”

* Regarding distance education, we have a very intense and smooth infrastructure in EBA Television and the EBA digital platform. We prioritize live lessons in distance education and provide students and teachers with the opportunity to conduct simultaneous and interactive lessons in a digital environment.

* We have prepared game-based digital content to encourage our 1st graders to like distance education.

* At the moment, our sole goal is to unite our children with their schools and to welcome our children who will start school on September 21st. We are prepared for this with our teachers, schools, all our attention and devotion.

WHAT DID PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN SAY?

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made the following statements after the cabinet meeting;

Since the day the epidemic began, we have maintained our distance education system in the best way at the primary, secondary and higher education levels. In the new period, we will continue education with a system where we will carry out both face-to-face education and distance education, taking into account the conditions of the epidemic.

In accordance with the preference of families, we open our schools to education, beginning with our 1st grade preschool and elementary school students. This practice may differ in our cities depending on the course of the epidemic.
