Five faculty members from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) started a research study in inland waters 3 years ago. The parasite species were named ‘Myxobolus Samsunensis’, ‘Myxobolus Karaeri’, ‘Myxobolus Cakmaki’ and ‘Myxobolus Ekingeni’. The scientific article on the discovery was published in the journal ‘Diseases of Aquatic Organism’ on December 21 and made known to the world of science.
