The fire that broke out in the Akarca district forest area around 2:00 p.m. the previous day in the Iskenderun district quickly spread due to the effect of the wind and spread to the Sarıseki, Denizciler, Karayılan and Azganlık districts. The fire, which was intervened by the Fire Department and the teams of the Provincial Forest Directorate from the air and the ground, was controlled 22 hours later, around 12:00 yesterday.

SEAL CLAIM

As the investigation into the fire continued, it was claimed that an image shared on social media was the result of an ‘arson’. Banu D., who filmed the fire that broke out in the forest area near the workplace, said there was no possibility of the flames spreading and the fire was deliberately put out, saying “Irrelevant places are burning. The fire is not spread there. They’re burning in the trees. They’re burning in the forest. There are people there, they’re burning. ”

Explaining the time he took the pictures and his accusations to DHA, Banu D. did not want to show his face for security reasons. Banu D. stated that he is very familiar with the forest area on the opposite side of the workplace and that the fire cannot be spread in this way by splashing due to the nature of the terrain. Banu D. claimed that the fire came out as a result of arson, said: “It is not possible to get out of the pineapple. Let them come and try, throw it away. It does not light this way. Someone burned these places during the day,” he said .

‘THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW HERE ARE COMMENTS’

Noticing that the flames were rising hundreds of meters away in the images he took with his mobile phone camera, Banu D. pointed out that he was behind their accusations and that hundreds of animals and plants were euthanized as follows :

“It is obvious that someone burned these places. It is a shame. Even the chameleon was poisoned and died. Things that are hopeless. People are commenting on social networks without knowing this place.”
