US President Donald Trump said that until after the November 3 presidential election, talks with Democrats about the corona virus incentive package ended.
Trump made statements on Twitter about the stimulus package negotiations with Democrats that have been going on for months.
Stating that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wanted a $ 2.4 trillion incentive for Democrats to save governed states and that this had nothing to do with Covid-19, Trump said: “ `We made a very generous offer of $ 1.6 trillion and in good faith as always. she is not negotiating ”.
“I reject their demands and look to the future of our country,” Trump said. “I instructed my representatives to stop negotiations until after the election, and as soon as I win, we will implement a major incentive law focused on working Americans and small businesses.”
THE ECONOMIC INCENTIVE PACKAGE HAS BEEN APPROVED THE WEEK THAT WE LAST
The US House of Representatives last week approved the $ 2.2 trillion economic stimulus package to combat the economic effects of the corona virus epidemic prepared by Democratic members.
Although for days no agreement was reached in negotiations between the White House and the Democrats, the stimulus package was accepted by 214 votes to 207.
Under the Democrats’ $ 2.2 trillion stimulus package, it was planned to reinstate and extend the weekly unemployment benefit of $ 600 until the end of the year.
If the incentive package was signed into law, it was expected to pay $ 1,200 in direct payments to US citizens as in the previous incentive package.
The Democratic-dominated House of Representatives approved the $ 3 billion aid package in May, but the majority-Republican Senate ignored the proposal.
In order for the incentive package to be enacted, it must first be approved by the Senate and then approved by the President of the United States, Trump.
