Biden signed a decree voiding President Donald Trump’s earlier decision to abolish the travel ban imposed on these countries due to Covid-19, effective January 26, adding South Africa to the previous list.
In the decree he signed, Biden said: “Taking into account the Covid-19 mutations and the spread of the disease, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reviewed international travel policies. After the review, We decided to apply a travel restriction for people coming to the US.
Consequently, non-US citizens traveling from countries included in the decree or who have been to these countries in the last 14 days will not be admitted to the US.
TRUMP BAN REMOVED
Former United States President Donald Trump, in his address to the nation on March 13, 2020, imposed travel restrictions on Schengen countries due to Covid-19, and the United Kingdom was later added to the list, Ireland and Brazil.
With the decree signed on January 18, Trump affirmed that this restriction will be lifted on January 26, 2021.
