The rubble belonging to the buildings, which were destroyed in the earthquake that took place in Izmir last Friday and killed 114 people, is carefully protected by being stored in an empty lot in Menemen according to the names of the apartments. The 6.6 magnitude earthquake hitting Izmir’s Seferihisar district last Friday damaged many buildings, especially in the Bayraklı district. Although some buildings in the district were completely destroyed by the effect of the earthquake, some buildings were demolished by the teams in a controlled manner.
The rubble belonging to the buildings with graves for 114 people was taken to the storage area of İZBETON AŞ in Menemen district, 25 kilometers from Bayraklı, and emptied. While the debris transportation process continues throughout the day with trucks, the locations to be spilled are determined in advance and the building is marked by marking which building on which street.
Teams from the Izmir Provincial Security Directorate work in the region for 24 hours so that their belongings that have material and moral value for the earthquake victims are not lost. The rubble piles are created according to the address records and kept waiting surrounded. No one, including earthquake victims, can enter the area.
