Management teams at the Istanbul airport branch suspected that the woman who arrived at the passport control point to go to Sao Paulo, Brazil around 02:00 on November 19 and introduced herself as Melike Y.
His wife’s passport, which showed suspicious behavior and acts, was carefully examined by police teams. The teams assessed that the passport could be fake and also did a fingerprint check. The suspect, whose information did not match, was arrested.
On detailed questioning, the suspected woman was determined to be Helin D., 27, who was sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in prison for “membership of a terrorist organization (PKK)” by the Second Superior Criminal Court of Adana .
In his statement, it was known that Helin D., like many members of the organization, tried to flee abroad in order not to go to jail in line with the instructions of the leaders of the so-called organization and said that he planned to move first to Brazil and then to Europe so as not to attract attention.
Suspect Helin D., whose police procedures were completed, was detained by the court to which he was referred. The moments in which the woman was caught were reflected in the airport security cameras. (DHA)
