There are days left until the US presidential elections, which are described as the historic ones that will take place between US President Donald Trump and his Democratic rival Joe Biden.
In the latest BBC poll, Democratic candidate Biden was claimed to be 10 points ahead of President Trump. The winner of the 59th presidential election, which will take place on Tuesday, November 3, is eagerly awaited.
52 percent of those surveyed said they believe Democratic candidate Biden will win, and 42 percent believe President Trump will win.
CRITICAL STATES MATTER
In the United States, the fate of elections is determined by so-called swing states because they go back and forth between Republicans and Democrats.
Pennsylvania and Florida stand out as the top two states in the 2020 election in 6 swing states, constituting 101 of the total number of 270 delegates to be reached for the US presidency.
In the poll, Biden is said to have 49.2 percent support in Pennsylvania, while Trump has 44.8 percent.
North Carolina is at the top of the swinging states, where the race goes head-to-head. According to the latest data, Biden leads about 3 points in the state, where Trump leads from time to time.
THE MOST VOTED DOES NOT WIN
In this system, called “Electoral College” in the United States, a total of 538 delegates are assigned to each state with different weights.
With more than half this number, one more than 270 delegates, the candidate deserves to be president.
It is known as one of the striking features of the American political system, where the balance between states is observed, that whoever has more delegates, not more votes in total, is the president.
