The Turk from Deutsche Welle who answers questions from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Office of Preparedness for Humanitarian Emergencies and Health of the European Central Turkey Country of the Temporary President Dr. Irshad Ali Shaikh, recalling that the minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca, said: “We do not share with the WHO what we do not share with our people first”, said: “We had no knowledge of this data.” Shaikh had emphasized that around the world, those who show no symptoms “make the virus spread silently.”

Referring to the health system in Turkey Shaikh, “Although the hospital in the case of other countries in Turkey, but not in poor condition as in Europe or America, if it continues in this way then we, the health system, can experience the collapse of the hospital system “had used.

WHO: SOME BAD MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS

In the statement made by the World Health Organization, the following expressions were used:

* WHO Turkey, gave an interview about the latest Covidien 4-19 situation in the world and in Turkey with the article on DWI and DWI from Turkish Friday, December published today by Turkish. We thank the media for their professionalism and the advocacy role of the media in raising public awareness.

* Unfortunately, we noticed that some media organizations misinterpreted some of the statements we made in the DW Turkish interview. Open and consistent communication is essential for the benefit of society and for policy development and evidence-based decision-making by all stakeholders. Here’s a part of our interview with DW Turkish to clarify again:

1. Can you assess the current situation of COVID-19?

* The world situation is very worrying. Because cases are increasing and the arrival of winter will increase as people spend more time in closed areas. Through the use of masks and other physical measures of the situation in Turkey, not as bad as in other European countries or the United States. For example, yesterday they checked into a shopping center and did not let anyone in without the HES code.

* Although vaccines seem to be close, we will have to continue to wear masks, maintain social distance, personal hygiene, and stay home while sick. As you said, the situation in Turkey, to reduce the spread as bad, if not in Europe or the rest of the world you must take responsibility for EVERYONE; both the people and the authorities. Otherwise, we are likely to put pressure on the healthcare system, as in the US To control the pandemic, EVERYONE must do their part.

2. Covidien-19 positive until last week in Turkey, as you know, the case was split and the patient. Today, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca reported that there are 6000 new patients. The Ministry of Health reports that there are around 30 thousand positive cases of COVID-19 per day. Do you think this was the correct approach? Which approach is more correct?

Minister Koca affirmed that nothing that is not shared with the public is not shared with the outside. So, the numbers at the time were unknown. But the current practice is correct. The WHO asks all member states to report all positive cases, whether symptomatic or asymptomatic.

* The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported that only one in 8 positive cases showed symptoms, other cases were missed, and thus the infection spread silently. at least asymptomatic cases are also known in Turkey and isolation and quarantine. In other words, some of the asymptomatic cases are detected and the spread is reduced. If other countries do not do this, the spread will continue in other countries.

3. Experts, says to be transparent about the number of cases in Turkey. Covidien’s management of Turkey-19 What is your opinion? Turkey and how did the communication between WHO and WHO know the real picture in Turkey?

Turkey, a pandemic is being handled very well from day one. Now we are doing well compared to other countries. But we must continue our commitment to mitigation measures. Health professionals are our heroes. The capacity of beds and hospitals has been increased, but it takes months and years to significantly increase the capacity of human resources.

* For our health professional heroes, everyone must act responsibly. Turkey and we have a very strong relationship with the Ministry of Health. Regional Director of Turkey in the last 6 months we have visited twice, indicate how strong are the bilateral relations between the two institutions.

4. Fahrettin’s husband said that Turkey had ordered the vaccine, but China’s health experts were concerned about the safety of this vaccine. Can WHO confirm this reliability?

WHO has no role in confirming a vaccine, treatment or diagnosis. Our job is to share evidence and provide guidance. Each country has an independent regulatory agency. The approval or non-approval of vaccines is at the discretion of these organizations, especially in emergencies.

* Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, regulatory agencies in many countries granted emergency use permits for vaccines, treatments, and tests. WHO COVAX vaccine manufacturers share data with both WHO and others. We have received the data for the second phase for the Chinese vaccine, but we have not received the data for the third phase yet. However, the Chinese vaccine uses the inactivated virus PH method, which has been used for many years and is a reliable method.

5. Do you have anything to add?

While vaccines are available for use, it can take months for everyone to agree to the vaccine. Also, the vaccine alone does not save lives, vaccination saves lives. Turkey has also determined and prepared the distribution of the vaccine and population groups will be prioritized in the allocation plans according to WHO guidelines. But it will still be months before everyone gets vaccinated. We must work together to wear masks, maintain social distance, maintain hand hygiene and stay home when we are sick, and spread the message so that the vaccine is accepted by the entire population.
