According to the information obtained, Elif Gültekin, who has operated a market for 10 years on Boulevard 19 Mayıs, was beaten to death by Kürşat Z., who entered the market as a customer. As a result of the attack by Elif Gültekin, who survived with the help of another customer who came shopping at the market during the incident, a tear formed under her right eye and 5 stitches were placed behind her ear. The person named Kürşat Z., who was arrested after the incident, was released after the statement of the prosecutor on duty.
‘VERBAL HARASSMENT’
Victim Elif Gültekin, who rebelled against the release of Kürşat Z., recounted the incident she had experienced and said: “While I was in the market, a customer came. He drank cigarettes and alcohol. Then he verbally abused him. I tried to get out himself. It seemed to come off, then turned and hit me. A person I don’t know. I intervened when he did sexual harassment. When he intervened, he started hitting. I complained, ”he said.

Gültekin said that he has been running the market for only 10 years, “I myself have been running the store for about 10 years since my husband passed away. We are people who do business with dignity and honor. I don’t think the person who hit me was drunk. Because if she had drunk, she couldn’t stand. This is someone like a psychopath. He already entered the store half naked. In his statement at the police station he confessed what he did, but the person is released against this confession, ”he said.

Claiming that he survived the incident thanks to another woman, Gültekin said: “There was a woman at the time of the incident. Maybe she would have killed me if I hadn’t asked for help. How many more women will die in Turkey. While I was taking care of my orphans, he would almost be orphaned by this incident. Will the state capture this after my death? I closed my market because of the incident I went through, out of fear. “My store where I earn my children’s support is now closed.”
The decision was made to re-arrest the suspect, who was released after his first arrest. The security forces began an action to capture Kürşat Z.

As a result of the technical and physical monitoring of the Muğla Police Department, the person who attacked Elif Gültekin was captured by the Muğla and Adana police while fleeing to Adana.
