Consequently, the seismic research vessel Oruç Reis, together with the ships Ataman and Cengiz Han, will carry out seismic studies in the previously announced area off Cyprus in the eastern Mediterranean.
The Oruç Reis seismic research vessel is capable of carrying out all kinds of geological, geophysical, hydrographic and oceanographic studies, especially the continental shelf and searches for natural resources.
Being one of the rare research ships in the world, fully equipped and multi-purpose, geophysical research can be carried out in 2 and 3 dimensional seismic, gravitational and magnetic fields. The spacecraft can carry out three-dimensional seismic operations up to 8 thousand meters deep and two-dimensional seismic operations up to 15 thousand meters deep.
