The Metropolitan Municipality of Ankara opened the Çubuk-1 Dam Recreation Area in its renovated form.
In addition to the Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, the opening ceremony was attended by İYİ Party Chairman Meral Akşener, CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, and Democratic Party Chairman Gültekin Uysal.
Mansur Yavaş, Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, gave a speech at the ceremony. Yavaş, who began his speech by celebrating Republic Day on October 29, said;
* Ankara was the headquarters of the national struggle against the invaders who yesterday tried to remove the great Turkish nation from these lands. Then it became the capital of our salvation and restoration.
* Today Ankara is the capital of our pride, our hope and our national march towards the future. Our Ankara welcomed a nation clinging to history and geography.
* He raised the national struggle as if he were cultivating it in his mother’s womb. Here he put his nails on the rocks against the invaders, grabbed them and then performed a miracle. He built independence, a republic and civilization in the middle of the steppe.
* As the Metropolitan Municipality of Ankara, we are making a great effort to be worthy of our capital on the one hand and our Republic on the other.
VOCATED WITH THE PRISON OF ATATÜRK
* The capital of the republic needed first a sense of trust and brotherhood. We got our hands under stone for this need before concrete, iron, and tear and we succeeded. With the aid campaigns, people became the Hızır of others.
* The distances caused by sociocultural distances have been shortened. The walls between districts and neighborhoods were destroyed. The feeling of brotherhood has avoided political differences. In this city the feeling of abandonment has been removed. Hopes that they will ‘surely catch up’ have settled in hearts.
* The hands touching the heart of an innocent, a downtrodden, a poor man were preferred to the buildings and rips that pierce the sky and obscure our sun. Like the Grand Ataturk saying that “the Republic is the nobody of orphans”, the Metropolitan Municipality of Ankara has embraced this magnificent attitude of the Republic as the person of orphans.
* Furthermore, it succeeded despite the great contraction of opportunities during the process of the global epidemic. All segments of poor, rich, young and old society came together especially during this pandemic period and showed everyone what they can achieve.
* The people of Ankara trusted us and did not disappoint us on this path, which we undertook saying abundance and peace. We too deserve this trust and we will not let your dreams fall with the permission of Allah.
* On this occasion, I wish mercy to Aziz Atatürk and his comrades in arms, who founded our Republic at great cost, and I would like to announce from Ankara, the capital of our Republic, that we will never lose our will to keep our Republic alive forever . On the centenary of the Republic, I present my love and respect to all of you with the dream of Ankara, which the world admires.
MESSAGE FROM AKŞENER AND KILIÇDAROĞLU
At the end of the program, CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu and İYİ party leader Akşener took the stage despite the rain.
CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu said the following;
* This dam is a work in which the Republic, in a sense, has proven its worth in Ankara. The dam may not be able to do its duty today, but why aren’t Çubuk dam concerts held at this dam while the night performers listen to their music? There are concerts in Istanbul. Çubuk Dam concerts can also be held in Ankara. Artists can come.
* People come not only from this region, but also from Çankaya from other places. Ankara should be a city of culture, music and art. Let me express with great pleasure the name of the person who will do this: Mr. Mansur Yavaş. He will, I believe it with all my heart.
* I sincerely thank Mr. Mansur Yavaş, who brought us together and explained his beautiful works to us and to society. I hope that together we will build a much better Ankara.
Akşener said: “We are together on a good night. We celebrate the anniversary of the founding of our Republic. Apart from being the leader of the IYI Party, like Meral Akşener, I am satisfied with the president of Mansur. I hope the people of Ankara are happy. Allah will also be pleased. WHAT HAS BEEN DONE AT ÇUBUK DAM?
Atatürk House, Bayrak Hill, Seyir Hill, Inscription Gate, Natural Walkway, Terrace Cafe, Embankment Walk, Heart Activity Area, Bike Path, Picnic Area, Sports Ground, Çınaraltı Rest Area, Greenhouse, Playground , mosque, In the Çubuk-1 Dam Recreation Area, which was completely reorganized and opened as parking lots and bathrooms, the Department of Environmental Protection and Control, the Department of Technical Works, the Department of Urban Aesthetics and the General Directorate worked together of ASKİ and ANFA.
Of the only landscaping arrangements in the area, 317 people working under the General Directorate of ANFA worked around 22,500 hours. Approximately 1,250 trees, 75,000 shrubs, 15,000 flowers, 3,000 vines were planted and 20,000 square meters of grass were made throughout the recreational area. Once the danger of waste is eliminated, it will fill with water like the dam that was opened in the first era of the Republic. The dam, which will be open in summer and winter, can visit the people of Ankara.
