The Minimum Wage Determination Commission held its first online meeting on December 4, organized by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services.
The parties transmitted their demands
Then the parties, the Turkish Employers ‘Trade Unions Confederation TİSK and the Turkish Workers’ Trade Unions Confederation met twice more in Turkish work at home. Mutual applications have been submitted.
Figures from the Turkish Statistical Institute determined for the third meeting on the minimum subsistence amount of a worker were shared at the meeting.
Consequently, the minimum wage; 2 thousand 792 for heavy business, 2 thousand 507 for medium business and 2 thousand 339 lira for light business.
The announced figure did not satisfy the workers
The amount announced did not satisfy the workers’ representative Türk-İş. In the statement made, it was noted that “unfortunately the figures announced by TURKSTAT were below the expectations of the employees.”
The 2021 minimum wage will be announced
The Ministry of Family Work and Social Services will host the last meeting.
Following the meeting chaired by Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, the minimum wage to be applied in 2021 will be announced.
