The main themes of the post-Brexit trade deal reached between the UK and the European Union were announced. The 2,000-page agreement included items such as customs, trade, professional competition, and fishing. The points agreed upon with the departure of the United Kingdom from the EU are the following:

COMMERCE

In terms of trade, trustworthy trading programs will be mutually recognized. This means that UK manufacturers will have to comply with UK and EU standards.

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE

There will no longer be an automatic “recognition of professional qualification” for doctors, nurses, architects, dentists, pharmacists, veterinarians and engineers on both sides. Professionals will be subject to the professional standards of the country where they want to work. For example, a Briton who wants to practice medicine in France does not have to offer any professional qualifications before Brexit, but will be subject to the professional qualification rules that France seeks after Brexit.

VISA

British citizens no longer have the freedom to work, study, start a business or live in the EU. A visa will be required for stays longer than 90 days. The coordination of some social security benefits such as old-age pension and health care will be organized in such a way as to facilitate work abroad and the accumulation of advance contributions to national insurance will not be lost.

Britain also pulled out of the “Erasmus” program with a deal.

FISHERY

While the EU countries’ fishing turnover in British waters is 650 million euros, the new quotas that reduce the EU’s share by 25 per cent in the sector where the UK’s fishing turnover is 850 million euros will be implemented gradually over a period of more than 5 years. A quarter of the EU fishing turnover – € 162.5 million per year – on a value basis – will be returned to UK flagged vessels at the end of this period.

GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE

With regard to state aid, which is seen as the largest EU concession in the deal, the EU had insisted on abiding by UK state aid rules. He was concerned that the UK government would try to gain a competitive advantage through subsidies. England successfully dismantled this idea.

ORIGIN OF THE PRODUCT

It was determined which goods will be counted as made in the UK under the product’s rules of origin. In this case, the finished goods in England will be counted as British inputs when exported to the European market. More than 40 percent of the value of the finished product, or if the British are not members of the EU, rather than a country like Japan, Turkey, the fee will be valid according to the agreement. The UK, UK and the EU trade deal will be considered parts of the UK input from countries like Japan and Turkey that failed to cross the backlog.

Science

Great Britain will continue to participate as a paid associate member in the € 80 billion Horizon Europe program, which is the EU’s flagship for 7 years. Great Britain’s participation will continue in Copernicus and Euratom.
