NEW MEASURES IN SERVICE IN ITALY
In the statement made by the Italian Ministry of Health, 5,901 new cases were detected in the last 24 hours in the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic throughout the country. With new cases, the total number of cases increased to 365 thousand 467. The number of active patients in the country was announced at 87 thousand 193. The highest number of cases in Italy was registered on March 21 with 6,557.
Although 41 people died in the last 24 hours from Covid-19 in the country, the total number of deaths rose to 36,246. The death toll exceeded 40 for the first time since June 20. While 62 people were taken to intensive care in the last 24 hours, a total of 514 people were reported to have been treated in intensive care across Italy.
The Italian government has introduced new restrictive measures due to the increase in the number of cases. The use of masks has been made mandatory throughout the country to include open areas. Events such as celebrations are prohibited in open or closed areas.
While only weddings and funerals were allowed, these ceremonies were limited to 30 people. School trips and amateur sports that involve contact are prohibited. It was recommended to have no more than 6 people in invitations in private properties.
Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte made a statement on new measures: “We will not send the police home, but everyone must act responsibly.”

“PARTIAL QUARANTINE” DECISION IN THE NETHERLANDS
With 7,378 new cases detected in the Netherlands in the last 24 hours, the total number of cases increased to 188,876. The number of people who lost their lives in the country increased from 35 to 6,631.
The Netherlands has decided to put in “partial quarantine” to prevent the increase in corona cases. According to a statement by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, it was decided to close cafes, bars and restaurants across the country for a month. Restaurants may only serve addresses and hotels will be exempt from this prohibition.
The sale of alcohol and drugs and the consumption of alcohol in public places will be prohibited from 8:00 p.m. in the country. The use of a mask will be mandatory for people over 13 years of age in public places.
Amateur team sports will be prohibited for those over 18 years of age. However, professional soccer matches will continue to be played. A maximum of 30 people will be allowed to gather in closed areas. Social contact will be limited to a maximum of 4 people.
The new measures will take effect from 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday night.
