Following the declaration by Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, that they had lost the war against Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh, some groups in Yerevan stormed the government building.
Mikayel Minasyan, the son-in-law of former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and called by the Vatican Consulate General, accused Pashinyan of betraying the Armenian people and declared that Armenia lost the war because of Pashinyan. After Minassyan’s statements, hundreds of people approached the government building in Yerevan with their private vehicles.
While the group gathered here tried to be stopped by the police, the protesters broke through the doors of the government building. While the number of protesters increases in Yerevan, where the tension still continues, additional police forces continue to be dispatched to the region.
In particular, representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations that oppose Pashinyan invited the public to gather in front of the government building, while Russian news agencies announced that the shooting spread in front of the government building. (İHA)
