FIRE FIRE AFFECTED BY SMOKE REMOVED FROM THE HOSPITAL
A firefighter who was involved in the fire fighting works that spread to some houses in the Fatih and Sarımazı districts of the Belen district of Hatay was affected by the intense smoke. The firefighter was taken to the hospital by ambulance after the intervention of medical teams.
After the fire spread to the area where the settlements were located, the families who took their children fled the area and away from the flames. The region was blocked by police and firefighters. While the police teams ensure the evacuation of the citizens in the houses, the firefighters continue their work to extinguish the fire. Firefighting works are continuing and spread to the Iskenderun and Arsuz districts in the Bethlehem district of Hatay.

The flames, which spread rapidly with the effect of the wind, reached a site in the Petek neighborhood of Bethlehem. While a pipe exploded in an apartment due to flames, it was exposed to flames in a building.
Crews were on alert to protect settlements in the fire when there was ash in a car. The Belen-İskenderun highway was closed to traffic as the fire approached the highway again. Firefighting work continues.

“Although the fire that broke out in different parts of our Bethlehem district on Friday, October 9, 2020 was controlled from time to time, the fire has not yet been extinguished due to the terrain and weather conditions.
In our province, efforts to contain the fire continue with the teams of the Kahramanmaraş Regional Forest Directorate, the Firefighters teams of the Metropolitan Municipality of Hatay, the Firefighters teams of the District Municipality and the firefighters teams of the surrounding municipalities.
People have been arrested in connection with the possibility of sabotage in the fire, and the investigation into the matter continues. There is no definitive information on the sabotage yet.
