Johnson and Johson announced that the pharmaceutical company stopped their vaccination studies due to the “unexplained” side effect observed in one participant.

Johnson and Johnson, based in the United States, were informed that the studies were stopped while the pharmaceutical company was in the third phase in the production of the coronavirus vaccine. It was stated that an undesirable illness was observed in a person who voluntarily participated in the virus test, thus the vaccination studies were stopped.

Johnson and Johnson, the company announced on its website that the work was suspended. In the company statement, it explained that a person who voluntarily participated in the coronavirus vaccine trials had an ‘unexplained illness’, so all clinical trials, including phase 3 ones, were shelved. The company did not provide information on when works will continue.

In addition, the volunteer participant with an “unexplained illness” was also treated by the company doctors. No information was shared about the participant’s health status. A statement of standard procedure came from the company for the suspension of the works.

Vaccination studies conducted around the world are said to be nearing completion. Although Russia announced that it had found the vaccine a few months ago, western states were wary of Russia’s vaccine. The World Health Organization also announced that studies on the coronavirus vaccine are nearing completion and the vaccine will be ready for use in December. Many countries have announced that they have started human trials with the virus vaccine and have begun monitoring the effect of the vaccine in humans.
