The detained HDP members were taken to the Ankara court

HDP members arrested in the investigation against the “Kobani protests” organized by the Ankara Prosecutor General’s Office in 2014 were taken to the Ankara Palace of Justice.

As part of the investigation, 82 people were detained, including former HDP deputies, mayors and members of the VQA.

Ayhan Bilgen, Co-Mayor of Kars Municipality, former MPs of HDP Altan Tan, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Emine Ayna, Nazmi Gör, Beyza Üstün, Member of HDP Can Memiş, Gülfer Akkaya, Member of HDP MYK Alp Altınörs, former spokesperson of the HDP Günay Akubatila Perihan Koca, a member of the Spokesperson’s Council of the Social Freedom Party, a member of the HDK-HDP Women’s Council Dilek Yağ, and a member of the HDP’s Supreme Radio and Television Council (RTÜK) Ali Ürküt were arrested.

After the period of detention for the suspects who were questioned at the Ankara Police Department had expired, a request for additional detention was submitted. The suspects were then taken to court under extensive security measures. The proceedings of the suspects in the Criminal Court of Peace continue.
