In the statement made by the Edirne Municipality, it was stated that the active occupancy rate at the Kayalıköy Dam, which provides water to the city, decreased to 3 percent due to extreme drought.
In the statement, it was announced that since water cannot be taken from the Kayalıköy dam, the need for drinking water will be supplied from the Süloğlu dam and there will be an interruption due to the work connecting the Süloğlu transmission line to the Kayalıköy transmission line at the Küçüküler Köyü location.
In the statement, in which it was indicated that citizens should be cautious in the face of the cut, the following was noted:
“The active occupancy rate of the Kayalıköy dam, where we meet the drinking water needs of downtown Edirne, has decreased to 3 percent due to extreme drought. To meet the need for healthy and uninterrupted drinking water from the Süloğlu dam, the Süloğlu water line will be connected to the Kayalıköy transmission line in the Küküler Village area and water transmission to the city center will be provided after connection procedures are completed. For this reason, no water will be delivered to the city center for a maximum of 36 hours starting at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 26. Our citizens are strongly requested to be cautious.
